Yoshi sits in a chair from across the room and drinks a bottled water. In the background of the shot is a computer monitor and you can faintly see the item that he has just put up for sale online - medical devices, each one selling for 200,000 yen. He exhales and closes his eyes. The camera slowly tracks towards him and Yoshii stares back at it, perhaps past it. The items begin to quickly sell and there’s almost no change in Yoshii’s expression. Until the final item is sold and he finally allows himself to relax. His bet has paid off. This early sequence in Cloud contains the film in miniature – the actions in the real world move online (Yoshii buys items for cheap and re-sells them at a profit), and the online world extends back to reality (the people who buy the items decide to take action).
